Research Seminar: Process Excellence in the Digital Age


ISM kindly invites to participate in Research seminar: Process Excellence in the Digital Age by Assoc. prof. Niels Gorm Malý Rytter, Aalborg University, Denmark. 

Seminar will take place on 6th of April, 12:30 pm at Room 411, ISM.


During this seminar the following issues will be addressed:

  • Definition, history and evolution of Lean Six Sigma in Industry.
  • Creating Kaizen / Continuous Improvement practices and cultures.
  • Digitalization of industry (Industry 4.0) and expected business impact in the future.
  • Synergies between process excellence and digitalization efforts – which are they and how to achieve them.
  • What organizational / human skills and capabilities will be required to succeed on the journey.

Speaker bio:

Niels Gorm Malý Rytter is currently an Associate Professor in Operations & Service Management at Aalborg University, Copenhagen Campus and Director / Partner in LinerGame. His expertise and current research interests are within areas of Lean-Six Sigma, Pricing, Revenue Management and Competition for the Liner Shipping industry. He prefers doing research on relevant industrial problems in close collaboration with industrial partners and emphasizes relevance, novelty and quality of his work to the benefit of both practice and academia. His preferred approach is to combine quantitative and qualitative methods, use complementary data sources and bring various paradigms, theories and people into play when to do research and produce innovative results.


The seminar programme will be followed by a 1st year ISM doctoral student in Management Christof Gellweiler presentation on Bridging Requirements For IT Products to Competitive Advantage.
