Course description

Learning French language is becoming increasingly popular and useful for those who are planning to work in the field of international business or in the Europeen institutions. The interest in French has grown considerably lately, especialy after Brexit. Therefore French is becoming a very important way of communication in the international business.

Course aim

The purpose of the French language 1 level (A1.1) program is to familiarize the beginners to learn the language with the essentials of pronunciation, intonation, spelling, lexis and the grammar, exercise the minimum skills of listening, reading, writing and speaking, as the abilities and expertise fit the European Language A1 levels in listening, reading, writing and speaking in French. By reaching this level students will gain the essentials of listening, reading, speaking and writing skills, will understand the most common language structures and use them in the spoken and written language.

Learning outcomes

  • To be able to dispose the necessary vocabulary for the program topics, to understand the main words and the most common phrases about themselves and the closest environment, explanations, short and simple applications and indications, questions and expression of companion, consisted of known words and phrases, short applications and indications, To extract the required information in the chat or monologue text, when it is slowly spoken and clearly pronounced in standard language, and if the companion adapts and tries to help.
  • To learn the basic phonetic rules and develop reading techniques and ability to understand short narrative or descriptive texts based on visual information and related to the topics of the program if the vocabulary and grammatical structures are known, that has predominantly visual elements and there can be a little unfamiliar words and grammatical structures.
  • To be able to speak with familiar words and phrases about themselves and the closest environment, participate in  a simple conversation related to the topics under the guidance of a teacher, to understand the orders and instructions related to the lecture‘s activity, to use the basic phrases of etiquette (to thank, to respond to a thank, to apologize, to respond to apology etc.), to participate in a brief and simple chat, for the purpose of communication to briefly tell about themselves, the family, hobbies and the closest surroundings.
  • To be able to write short texts from known words and phrases, to provide information about themselves when filling in questionnaires and forms (to write the name, surname, address, age etc.), to communicate in writing according to the topics and situations (neatly tell and describe), to write a short letter, note or postcard according to the example.
