Spanish Language II (HUM134)

Course description

Learning Spanish as a second foreign language is becoming increasingly popular and useful for those who are planning to work in the field of international business. The interest in Spanish has grown considerably in the last 5 years, not only within European boundaries, but also in the USA where Spanish is very often chosen as the first foreign language.

Course objective

After completion of the course the students will be able to read and understand simple texts related to their studies for general idea, derive vocabulary meaning from context, they will have developed vocabulary building skills and acquired sufficient vocabulary. They will have developed business communication skills in key performance areas such as exchanging information, discussing and presenting simple business issues.

Learning outcomes

  • Students will be able to read/listen to and understand authentic texts related to their studies for general idea and for detail.
  • Students will be able to derive vocabulary meaning from context; develop vocabulary building skills and acquire sufficient vocabulary in the topic areas defined in the course outline.
  • Students will develop business communication skills in key performance areas such as exchanging information, discussing and presenting business issues.
  • Students will be able to write and structure business reports, write summaries.
  • The learners will be able to give presentations, participate in meetings, discussions and negotiations
