Overview

New University of LIsbon (Universidade NOVA de Lisboa) was established in 1973 and is the youngest of the three public universities in Lisbon. The University, which covers an area of approximately 60 hectares, is located on three campuses - Campolide, Caparica and Avenida de Berna - in different sites of Lisbon. The Faculdade de Economia is a public school dedicated to teaching and scientific research in the fields of Economics and Management. Founded in 1978, the faculty has been developing an innovative project in Portugal, following the standard of North American universities, and currently occupies the top national position in the fields of Economics and Management, in terms of teaching and research. The graduate courses in Economics and Management have obtained the best results possible in its evaluation, which was carried out by the Higher Education External Evaluation Committee, under the supervision of the Fundação das Universidades Portuguesas (Portuguese Universities Foundation).

Students’ course evaluation is conducted on an individual basis, and final grades are on a scale of 0 – 20. Curricular courses or Work Project approval requires that the final grade is equal to or greater than 10.
