Course annotation

This course focuses on a strategic view of marketing. It provides bases of thinking about marketing strategy. During this course students will evaluate, analyse and make strategic marketing decisions while developing a holistic and integrated understanding of companies, customers and competitors. This course is allows students to develop their ability to think strategically and to plan and implement effective marketing strategies.

Learning outcomes

  • Understand how strategic marketing issues are addressed at a top management level of the company.
  • Identify and analyse the strengths, weaknesses, opportunities, and threats faced by an organization as it develops marketing plan.
  • Critically evaluate a firm's marketing activities and to diagnose and solve marketing problems.
  • Understand and apply the key concepts, theories and procedural aspects relating to the development and implementation of a marketing strategy.
  • Analyse, evaluate and formulate solutions to strategic marketing issues dealing with multiple management functions within an organization and multiple stakeholders.
  • Critically evaluate empirical data and judge apropriateness of various qualitative and quantitative research methods for solution of strategic marketing issues.
