Jamelia Harris

Jamelia Harris is currently reading for a DPhil in International Development at the University of Oxford, where her research focuses on labour markets and employment in developing countries, aspirations of the skilled workforce, and the economic effects of overseas development assistance and aid. Jamelia has worked as an Economist for the Government of Sierra Leone under the Overseas Development Institute Fellowship Scheme, as a lecturer at Fourah Bay College, University of Sierra Leone; and a Research Assistant at the University of the West Indies and University of Oxford. She has also worked in a policy setting, having consulted on various projects for international development agencies such as the Overseas Development Institute, the Natural Resource Governance Institute and Deutsche Gesellschaft für Internationale Zusammenarbeit (GIZ). She graduated from the London School of Economics and Political Science with an MSc. in Economics (with Distinction) and from the University of Southampton with a BSc. in Economics and Actuarial Science (First Class Honours).
