Admission to bachelor studies

To begin: Check eligibility

General requirements:

  • A secondary school education completed or if you are in your final year at school you need to submit transcript grades;
  • State mathematics examination or, if the person has not taken this exam, the ISM mathematics test results.

International applicants, please check your country’s specific requirements HERE.

English language requirements*:

  • ISM English test (minimum score of 55);
  • TOEFL (minimum score of IBT 60 points);
  • IELTS (minimum score of 6);
  • Cambridge English test Level B2 Certificate (minimum score of 169);
  • PTE Academic (minimum score of 52);
  • Duolingo English Test (minimum score of 115);
  • International Baccalaureate or European Baccalaureate diploma;
  • English state exam result is equal or higher than Level B2 if applicant is from Estonia or Latvia;

*Applicants whose previous education was taught entirely in English may also be exempted from the English language requirement, subject to the decision of the admissions committee.

After the motivational interview, the ISM admission commission reserves the right to request the applicant to take the ISM English language test.

All applicants who fulfill the formal entry requirements are welcome to submit an online application form.

General requirements:

  • Undergraduate degree diploma and diploma supplement (if you have completed a vocational bachelor’s diploma, the admissions committee will determine what kind of preparatory courses you will need to be eligible for the Master’s degree at ISM University).

International applicants, please check your country’s specific requirements HERE.

Programme-specific requirements:

  • Global Leadership and Strategy: Bachelor’s (or equivalent) degree in any field.
  • Innovation and Technology Management: Bachelor’s (or equivalent) degree in any field.
  • Business Sustainability and Management: Bachelor’s (or equivalent) degree in any field.
  • International Marketing and Management: candidate must hold a Bachelor’s (or equivalent) degree in Management field or any other field and collected at least 18 ECTS credits in the field of Management/ Economics/ Business/ Human Resources/ Marketing or Finance.
  • Financial Economics: candidate must hold a Bachelor’s (or equivalent) degree in Finance or Economics fields or any other field and collected at least 18 ECTS credits in the field of Economics/ Finance or Mathematics.

English language requirements:

  • IELTS Academic 6.5 (each subsection no less than 6.0);
  • TOEFL iBT no less than 79;
  • Cambridge English B2 First or C1 Advanced Certificate no less than 176;
  • PTE Academic no less than 59;
  • Duolingo English no less than 125;
  • Diploma from any other ISM programme;
  • Passed ISM English language test no less than 70.

Candidates who submit one of the documents listed below, verifying their level of English proficiency, may also be exempted from the English language requirement, subject to the decision of the admissions committee:

  • Confirmation of secondary or higher education completed entirely in English;
  • A document verifying that the applicant has spent at least six months abroad through the Erasmus or a bilateral exchange programme, during which they completed a minimum of 30 ECTS credits in English;
  • An official certificate from an employer confirming at least six months of work experience where English is the primary language of communication. The certificate must specify the length of employment, job responsibilities, and the language of communication in the workplace;
  • If both English and native languages are used for communication at the workplace, an official employer certificate is required, confirming at least one year of work experience with English as the primary language of daily communication, comprising no less than 70% of overall communication in the workplace. The certificate must detail the employment duration, job responsibilities, and the language of communication in the workplace;
  • An official certificate confirming an internship conducted abroad in English for a period of no less than six months.

Admission to Executive MBA

Admission conditions

  • Bachelor’s degree (in any field of studies).
  • English language at Upper Intermediate level or higher (tested during a motivation interview).
  • At least 5 years of managerial work experience (post-graduation).

Admission process

  • Submit the application form and other documents online on https://my.ism.lt
  • Participate in a personal interview (date and time individually arranged with the candidate)

Necessary documents

Electronic copies of the following documents are submitted online together with the application form:
  • Passport or personal identification card.
  • Bachelor diploma and its supplements, and other documents confirming applicant’s education.
  • Motivation letter (in English).
  • 1 recommendation letter (in English).
  • Curriculum vitae (CV) (in English)
  • Document confirming the paid application fee (100 EUR)
  • Photo
  • Notary confirmed translation of education documents in case the applicant earned their degree abroad and the documents are issued in languages other than English.
  • Confirmation from ISM Study Service Department regarding the recognition of foreign qualifications, provided the applicant earned their degree from a foreign higher education institution.

Admission to Executive Master in Management

Admission conditions

  • Bachelor’s degree (in any field of studies).
  • English language at Upper Intermediate level or higher (tested during a motivation interview).
  • Fluency in Lithuanian.
  • At least 4 years of managerial work experience (post-graduation).

Admission process

  • Submit the application form and other documents online on https://my.ism.lt
  • Participate in a personal interview (date and time individually arranged with the candidate)

Admission to Education Leadership

Admission conditions

  • Bachelor’s degree (in any field of studies).
  • English language at Upper Intermediate level or higher (tested during a motivation interview).
  • Fluency in Lithuanian.
  • At least 4 years of managerial work experience (post-graduation).

Information for students with special needs

As a socially responsible university, ISM University of Management and Economics (hereinafter referred to as ISM University) is equally inclusive to special needs and non-special needs students. Students with special needs are welcome to apply in all ISM University programmes. University strives to offer a healthy and enriching environment to support, guide, and encourage students with special needs to participate in general student activities within the university and/or beyond;

  • During the application process a student is strongly advised to inform the Admissions manager about the condition and support needed. Admissions manager will reach out to the Study Service department to consult if the issue can be resolved. Meanwhile, the application will be on hold. If the decision is taken that the offer can be made, the admissions will be informed, and the application process will continue. If the ISM University decides that it is not possible to adjust, the applicant will be informed and provided with reasons as to why no reasonable adjustments were possible.
  • Students with the relevant supporting documentation (e.g. medical notes and/or reports from psychologists) are eligible to apply for appropriate support without compromising academic standards.
  • Students are responsible for informing the ISM University (their Programme manager) about any special needs which may impact on their studies or engagement in the life of the ISM University.
  • Students have the right not to disclose their special needs / disability or to request that the existence or nature of their special needs / disability be treated as strictly confidential and therefore not shared with relevant staff across the ISM University. Requests for strict confidentiality may mean that a less satisfactory adjustment is provided or that no adjustment can be provided. Where a student informs the ISM University that they have special needs / disability, the ISM University will treat all personal data in accordance with the GDPR; Special needs / disability-related information with the agreement of the student will be shared internally only on a need-to-know basis in order for support and reasonable adjustments to be implemented.
  • It is possible for students with special needs / disability to request additional time to complete an examination where their special needs / disability impairs their ability to concentrate, read, write or formulate responses. The student is responsible for informing ISM University’s Study Service department at least a month before examination.
  • It is possible for the student with special needs / disability to ask for the extension of a deadline to complete the task.
  • Where a student with special needs / disability has missed a class, they are responsible to make up any missed learning. They will be able to access relevant learning materials on the course’s Moodle page and can also make use of office hours for individual support.
  • It is possible for a student with special needs / disability to request an individual Study plan. The student is responsible for informing the ISM University’s Study Service department at least a month before the start of the Semester.
